FEATURED AUTHOR: Ellie Douglas, Writer of Horror

It's not obvious, but our featured author, Ellie Douglas, loves to scare and gross people out through her horror novels. Get to know this award-winning writer.

Tell us something about the woman, Ellie Douglas. Who are you?

Born and raised in New Zealand, I'm a mother and wife who donates what spare time I have into volunteer work with Autistic children.

I'm addicted to horror, everything about it, I love. I enjoy creating strong characters that rise to the top from ordinary lives.

My love affair with horror has seen me produce three award-winning horror books.

I'm creative in all aspects, with several adult coloring books and an online casino slot game under my belt. I'm constantly striving to do more. I also make professional book covers for authors and have helped people with their websites, banners and logos.

My ultimate aim is to give back, paying it forward and to constantly better myself. To give the audience amazing entertaining stories that I myself would read.

I would love to scare you…

Why did you choose the Horror genre?

I’ve always loved horror since I was very, very young. It was something that I was introduced to when I was little and it stuck with me, growing up with two brothers who were also into horror. Made it that much more fun. I love to scare and gross people out.

Is there a book or author that inspired you to be a writer?

Stephen King is a major inspiration as is horror movies. Movies from my younger years, like: Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Aliens, Zombies dawn of the Dead, etc. I continued throughout my youth, and have a huge passion for horror.

What can readers expect when they read your latest release, Death O Death?

Readers can expect to be grossed out, scared, itchy, disgusted, and they might just start believing in monsters.

Where can they buy a copy?

What do you love about being an author?

Being an author means I can write things that I myself would love to be reading, but more importantly it gives me the opportunity for readers to discover the rawness and reality of visceral horror. I am a very descriptive writer, and I love creating characters that are strong and stand out. Giving that to a reader is very important to me.

What is your message to readers?

Let me scare and shock you in ways you haven’t seen before.
